Skid Pan Experiences in York

Get ready for an unforgettable experience on the skid pan! Our exciting sessions are designed for small groups, ensuring personalized instruction and plenty of hands-on practice. You’ll have the chance to get behind the wheel of standard cars and navigate through tight turns while tackling the slick surface of our bespoke skid pan.

During your one or two-hour session, our expert instructors will guide you on how to enter and exit skid situations effectively. You'll learn crucial techniques that could one day help you evade tricky road conditions, making you a safer, smarter driver. Get ready for an engaging and educational adventure that balances skill-building with the thrill of driving!

This experience is suitable for anyone aged 17 and above, whether you hold a provisional or full license. It’s the perfect way to gain confidence and learn the art of vehicle control in a fun, safe environment.

What's Included

• Learn how to react to adverse conditions in a safe environment
• Drive a BMW 3 series standard road car on a low grip skid pan, cradles are not used
• Experiences operate on a 3:1 driver ratio, with drivers taking turns behind the wheel
• Tuition from qualified ARDS or BARS instructors
• Choose from a one hour session or for extra driving time opt for the two hour session
• You will part of a small group of up to six with two cars (or up to three with one car)

Itinerary

• Welcome, introduction and safety briefing
• Initial driving session on the skid pan
• Classroom session with an instructor
• Driving session on the skid pan
• Braking exercises (ABS and cadence)
• Debrief with presentation

• Morning and afternoon sessions are generally available
