Blacksmithing Course in Kent

Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of forging! This blacksmithing course begins with an introduction to the tools and techniques you’ll be using. Michael will share his passion for blacksmithing, providing insights into the art form that have captivated artisans for centuries.

As you step into the forge, you’ll learn how to handle the forge and work with metal. Feel the thrill as you heat the metal and begin to shape it, guided every step of the way by Michael. Each session is designed to cater to your skill level, so whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, you'll find this course rewarding.

By the end of your session, you will have crafted your very own piece, a testament to your newfound skills. Not only will you gain hands-on experience, but you'll also leave with a deeper appreciation for this timeless craft.

What's Included

• One day blacksmithing course
• Introduction to general blacksmithing skills
• Work for the day under the instruction of an award winning blacksmith using traditional blacksmithing tools
• Make your own fire poker, key fob and hook to take home with you
• Participants will have their own forge, anvil, vice and set of tools
• Hand outs detailing how to make each item
• Break for lunch (not included, please bring a packed lunch)
• You will form part of a small group of up to four participants

• Fridays throughout the year
• The course does not operate in July and August
• Sessions generally start at 9:30 finishing around 17:30
