This is your opportunity to take the driver's seat of a powerful HGV, just like the iconic Eddie Stobart trucks. You don’t need any special licenses; all you need is your regular driving license to join this exciting experience at our off-road training centre near Exeter.
Feel the power under your control as you steer a colossal vehicle weighing 44 tonnes and measuring 55 feet in length, complete with a three-axle trailer. With a robust 460 bhp engine and a smooth 12-speed automatic gearbox, you’ll be amazed at how commanding these giants can be. Whether you're a seasoned driver or trying something new, we ensure you'll receive expert guidance to navigate this fantastic challenge.
Expect a memorable session filled with expert instructions, the excitement of maneuvering such a large vehicle, and of course, the incredible view from the cab. It's not just about driving; it's about immersing yourself in the experience of handling a true piece of engineering on wheels.
What's Included
- Drive a 44 ton articulated lorry
- Welcome, introduction and safety briefing
- The experience lasts around 1 hour in total and you will behind the wheel of the lorry for the majority of this time
- The session includes a slalom course, controlled braking and even how to uncouple a trailer
- Opportunity to try your hand at reversing the lorry
- You will be taught on a 1:1 basis as you drive around the airfield venue
- Certificate of achievement is issued at the end of the session

When Is It Available
• Courses usually run on selected Saturdays from March to October
• Some selected weekdays may also be available

Location
• The venue is an ex-airfield site near Honiton in Devon with easy access via the M5/A303/A30
Suitable For
• Minimum age is 18 years and drivers must have a full, valid driving licence
• Minimum height is 5'2"
• Please wear flat soled shoes or trainers
Spectators
• Up to five spectators can come and watch
• They can take turns to ride in the spare cab seat whilst the driving takes place
• There are no refreshment or toilet facilities on site, although facilities are nearby
