Peak District Microlighting Experience

Prepare for an incredible aerial journey as you choose between two amazing aircraft options. Experience the agility of a light sport aircraft or the open-air excitement of a flex-wing microlight. Both designs are engineered for a fantastic flying experience, allowing you to feel the freedom of flight like never before!

Tatenhill is an exceptional launch point for your flight, offering panoramic views of the breathtaking Peak District National Park. From the moment you ascend, you’ll be treated to a stunning landscape that features lush valleys, rugged hills, and historic country houses. The beauty of the scenery will leave you in awe as you glide gracefully through the sky.

During your flight, your knowledgeable instructor will guide you through the essentials of microlighting, ensuring that you not only enjoy the adventure but also learn about the aircraft and the fascinating sights below. Whether you're a first-time flyer or looking to expand your aviation skills, this experience is tailored to be both fun and informative.

What's Included

• Flying lesson in your choice of flex-wing (open cockpit) or fixed-wing (closed cockpit) microlight 
• Welcome introduction and safety briefing
• 30, 45, 60 or 90 minute lessons are available
• Opportunity to have involvement in selecting your route and to take the controls during the flight
• Routes can include Staffordshire countryside and market towns, the Peak District National park and/or stately homes and historic houses
• Opt for the 90 minute experience and you can also include The Dambusters Run (fixed wing closed cockpit flight only)

When Is It Available

• Available weekdays and weekends throughout the year
• Please note all flights subject to availability and weather dependent

Suitable For

• Minimum age 14
• Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
• Maximum weight 15 stones 10lbs (100kg)
• You may not fly if you are pregnant or under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Spectators

• Family and friends are welcome to come along and watch
• The onsite cafe has great views across the airfield
