Wing Walking Adventure in Devon

Prepare for an extraordinary journey as you embark on a wing walking adventure unlike any other. Once you arrive at Dunkeswell Airfield, our friendly team will gear you up and explain the safety procedures before you climb aboard the iconic Boeing Stearman. It's all about safety and enjoyment, ensuring you feel confident as you prepare for takeoff.

Once airborne, the real magic begins. Stand securely strapped to the top wing of the aircraft, where you'll be able to take in breathtaking panoramic views of the Devon countryside. The freedom of the skies is exhilarating, and as the aircraft performs gentle maneuvers, you'll feel a rush of adrenaline that will make your heart race. Wave to your loved ones below and create memories that will last a lifetime!

Throughout the 10-minute experience, you’ll be guided by a professional pilot with years of experience, ensuring that every moment is as safe as it is thrilling. So, are you ready to step out of your comfort zone and take to the skies?

What's Included

• Invite friends and family to watch you in your own 10 minute wing walking display
• Before the flight you will receive a wing walker training session which includes safety awareness and instruction on the use of the rig and seatbelts
• Stand on the wing of an authentic Boeing Stearman Biplane travelling at speeds of up to 135 mph
• Your experience will last approx 10 Minutes from when you start to climb up onto the plane
• A qualified display pilot will complete the air display
• Optional recording of your flight will be available, for an additional charge (payable direct)
• Please allow approximately three hours on site for this experience

It is a condition of CAA approval that you are made fully aware that Wing Walking carries a higher risk than a normal commercial flight (e.g when you fly on holiday) . The operator of these experiences will brief you clearly on the risks that have been identified and how they have been mitigated to make the experiences as safe as possible. You will receive an in depth briefing on the day of your flight and have the opportunity to ask any questions before signing a disclaimer, confirmation of briefing and risk acceptance.

When Is It Available

• Selected dates between March to November
• Choose from a weekday only voucher or to include weekends opt for the anytime voucher
• All dates are subject to availability and weather conditions

Suitable For

• Wing walkers must be under 85kg (13 stone 3lbs)
• There is no height restrictions for this experience
• Minimum age is 18, there is no upper age limit but over 65's must have a doctors note
• You must be able and fit enough to climb up the aircraft to the Rig on the top wing (approximately 10 feet)
• This experience is approved by the CAA and you are permitted to raise money or be sponsored whilst Wing Walking at this location
• Please be aware that wing walking carries a higher risk than a 'normal' airline flight and these risks will be clearly explained to you on the day
• A form is required should you have any medical conditions or be on any medication

Spectators

• You are welcome to bring spectators along with you to watch your wing walking display
• Catering options are available for larger groups upon request
• There will be great photo and video opportunities throughout
• The airfield has a clubhouse and cafe onsite
