Beekeeping Experience in Sheffield

Our Sheffield beekeeping experience offers both half-day and full-day courses, allowing you to choose the perfect fit for your schedule. You will gain hands-on experience at a local honey farm, learning essential skills that every budding beekeeper should know.

During your time with us, you will closely inspect frames, identify buzzing Queen bees, and understand the crucial role each bee plays within the hive. Our passionate instructors will share insights into their beekeeping journeys, providing a wealth of knowledge that you'll carry with you long after the experience ends.

What's Included

• Enjoy a full or half day beekeeping experience
• Welcome, introduction and safety briefing
• The experience is split into intervals starting with bee basics, learning about the colony life cycle and how they work and communicate
• Be shown how to look after the bees and learn how to harvest honey and how it is made
• All equipment required is provided on the day
• You will form part of a group of up to 20 people

When Is It Available

• Selected weekdays and weekends from May to the end of September
• Full Day Experience: 10am to 4.30pm
• Half Day Experience: 10am to 1pm

Suitable For

• Minimum age 11
• Under 18s must be accompanied and supervised by a participating adult
• Suitable for beginners
• Not suitable for those with an allergy to bees

Spectators

• Not suitable for spectators however there is a cafe and shop on site where family and friends can visit while the experience takes place

Anything Else

• Please wear out door clothing suitable for the weather
