When you arrive at the picturesque Old Dairy Farm, you'll be transformed into a contemporary smith, ready to forge your own stunning pieces. Kelly Burton, an experienced artist blacksmith, will guide you through the entire process, ensuring both beginners and seasoned crafters feel comfortable and inspired.

Over half or a full day of hands-on fun, you’ll learn how to handle the tools and techniques essential for blacksmithing. You'll experience the thrill of working with glowing metal as you shape your creations under Kelly's personal guidance. Every participant will leave with a special forged item, a symbol of your newfound skills and creativity!

What's Included

• Half or full day experience learning the basics of blacksmithing
• Make a practical or decorative item to take home with you
• You may form part of a small group of up to 4 participants for this experience
• Vouchers for two provide an exclusive one to one session for just the two of you!

Half Day

• Sessions last four hours
• Examples of items you could make include a poker, key ring, coat hook or bottle opener

Full Day

• Full days provide more hands-on time with the opportunity to create maybe something you have in mind!
• Sessions last 6 hours with a break for lunch
• Receive a two-course lunch in the onsite Barn Restaurant served with refreshments

When Is It Available

• Sessions are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays
• Dates are subject to availability

Timings

• Half Day: 10:00-14:00
• Full Day: 09:00-15:00

• A good general level of fitness is required

Spectators

• Not suitable for spectators

Anything Else

• Suitable clothing and footwear such as jeans and boots should be worn
• Avoid wearing man-made fabrics as they are flammable
• Ear defenders and safety glasses must be worn.  Participants should bring their own or these can be provided upon request
